It's A Whole New Life

It's hard to believe that I've not written a word in over a month!  I'v e shared some videos on Youtube but not here.  So much has been going on.  I have lived in Tampa since 2002 and on so many ocassions I said I was going to leave.  When my son graduated from high school in 2012 I started trying to figure out where I wanted to venture to next.  After all, I had no worries about good schools anymore since my baby was off to college.

Last year in June, I lost my job so I felt it was the perfect time to explore other options so I took off to South America.  Loved it but felt it really wouldn't afford me the lifestyle I wanted on the savings I currently had so I came back.  What I have come back to is Orlando.  Its just up the road from Tampa, far enough away that I am having to get familiar with a new place but close enough that I can still venture over to see friends.  I also took a new position doing something I am passionate about.

So much "newness" in my life.  I owned a 5 bedroom family home in Tampa, when I moved to Orlando, I wanted a "bachelorette pad" lol  I wanted something that was fun and impressive.  I am a very sociable person but I also spend a lot of time alone at home so it was important that I got something that I would be excited about on days when I was just sitting around in my PJ's.

After spending half of my life raising children I will be honest, I was a little reluctant about my new location because what if one of them needed to come back home.  My daughter (my oldest) moved out of our family home at the same time I did.  She was the one saying "Mom, you worked hard, get this, you deserve it".  So I felt since I raised that kid, she's pretty smart :-) so I took her advice.  My 2 bedroom place is perfect (once I figure out where to put all the nonsense I own).

All of this "newness" caused me to rethink even my blog, I have revamped my online personality a few times.  This blog was born out of a shoe blog that I had for almost 6 years.  As I ventured into makeup, I felt that I needed a new name & a  new look and The Hurricane In Heels was born.  The majority of this blog has focused on airbrush makeup but now I am simply going to share the parts of my life that I think may be of interest to an audience.  So that means you will see some fashion, makeup, food (mostly showing you how to take those big recipe's and make them little for those that are single like me), some socializing & some encouraging words because I am all about showing women how wonderful we are.

I do hope that you will stick around, comment & share my new format.  I am excited....and tired (all this moving, unpacking, training for a new position & figuring my way around is wearing me out!) but rest assured, I may have been absent for a while but I have no plans of completely disappearing.  Thanks for hanging in there with me :-)
