One thing about being an airbrush makeup junkie is that you still need to make sure to take care of your skin. Airbrush makeup for me has a bit of a drying effect so I want to make sure that as I try to look more youthful with its use that I am not being counter productive by drying out my skin and creating more wrinkles.
There are tons of facials out there with recipes that you can try but I'm too lazy for that. I know that staying with natural ingredients is usually the best practice. Therefore, my homemade facial was pretty simple & basic. It consists of 1 egg white, 1 tablespoon of almond oil & 1 tablespoon of organic honey.
Almond oil is perfect for my skin type, its one of my lazy girl makeup removal items. It nourishes the skin. Even if you have oily skin, Almond oil is good for it. The skin drinks this one up pretty quickly and your glands that create oil don't react as if it has gotten too much oil and the part of your skin that needs the oil gets what it needs.
Egg whites tighten the skin so that's almost a no brainer as to why I use it. I want tighter skin :-) if you have an egg allergy of course you want to find something that is friendlier to your body. For me, the egg is fine and unlike a lot of the store bought brands where you want to avoid the under eye area, with the egg whites, its first of all thin enough to get right up under there but its gentle too.
Organic honey is full of benefits but I chose it specifically because it has a lot of antioxidants is a great moisturizer and is used as an anti-aging component to my simple facial recipe. It doesn't hurt that it smells nice too. That makes it easier to smear it all over your face.
What types of natural ingredient, homemade facials are your favorites? I love trying new things that are good for my skin and if its easy, sign me up! There's nothing quite like getting the the benefit of having gone to the spa right at home with simple homemade facials.
